Since 2005, Richard has made more than 700 visits to British schools to deliver his inspiring and unforgettable piano masterclasses. Due to Covid-19, we have moved to an online model using Zoom, Teams etc. meaning schools can have a "visit" any time to suit their own needs. We have found this so successful that from 2022 all our visits will be online. Richard works with a small group of two to four pianists (from Grade 3 to the most advanced) and if appropriate, an audience of other musically-minded students (e.g. from exam classes). Based in school or from students' individual homes, classes may be hosted by the school or by peripatetic teachers. Each participant plays an item of piano music they would like to work on, and Richard's aim is to broaden the thinking of these young musicians. He gives them new perspectives, techniques and goals for the preparation and presentation of their pieces and, of course, Richard is always on the lookout for new Pianoman scholars! As part of the masterclass, Richard himself plays one or two works, carefully chosen to inspire and enthral.
